This company does not back their products!!!!!

I purchased a exterior french door made by Jeld Wen at the Home Depot. It said Jeld Wen all over the packaging and on the gold plate on the door. The door had a moisture inside the glass insert after a year and a half. The warranty department claims that they have specific hinge locations and that they did not produce this door. My only option is to buy a $220 insert replacement for a $650 door. Lana in the warranty department went as far to say that I could of possibly purchased the door at habitat for humanity. I have gone round and round with this company and have not gotten anywhere. I will never purchase Jeld Wen again, even if I spend 4 times as much money.

Home Depot SUCKS. They hire ignorant people to do technical work.

THEY HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT THEY'RE DOING. I had almost the same experience, the glass was wrong, damaged in shipping and they said they checked it out and it was fine. ***!!!! Now I'm out $555.00 plus because they screwed up on the shipping.

It was suppose to go to the store, and they shipped it to my house, where my 83 year old mother accepted it. She didn't know what to look for. Not her fault.

It's the jack *** at Home Depots fault. I'll never buy there again.

Jeldwen Windows and Doors Poor Service

For six weeks this insecure, unsightly plywood panel has been in place, waiting for Jeldwen to correct their mistake. The third panel of the patio door was an 1 1/2 inch short, not what was ordered and paid for 1/24/2016. First customer service tried to blame our contractor, then tried to blame Lowes, then tried to blame their sub-contracted manufacturer. Because they are now "in busy season" the delivery of the correct panel has been canceled twice. I promised Jeldwen I would warn other consumers if the lies and blame-game continued. Don't waste your valuable time and money with this inept company. If they make a mistake, the consumer suffers.

1 yr so far! Job not finished.

April 2015 I ordered 5 doors from Home Depot. 1 front door, 2 sets of french doors that go side by side. Front door arrived damaged and I accepted $100. off. 3 of the french doors were installed and 1 was cut wrong. They hung it anyway and said a replacement would come soon. Every time it rains the door leaks onto my hardwood floor. each time a replacement door was scheduled it didn't fit. At one point Jeldwen's installer lied to me about arrival times, didn't install and Jeldwen switched to an outside contractor to do the installation. 2 times now the outside contractor has been unable to install due to door being cut wrong or damaged in delivery to warehouse. They said a month now on new door. I complained and they offered me a refund for the 1 door. I had custom built shutters for the doors that they said could be reinstalled and they have sat stacked in my beddroom now for a year. Yet they claim there is no way to expidite the order and it will be a month before the door is shipped to the warehouse for the outside installer to then pick up and bring for installation! No my fear is that my shutters won't fit even though they assured me the cuts would be exact as to the old doors. I will post again after next attempt.

Poor quality products, lax customer service

We purchased a new pre-hung fiberglass front door though Home Depot from Jeld Wen. The first door delivered....several gaps in the mullions around the windows. Only one gap was considered big enough (thicker than a nickel) to need replacement, but that required a new door slab. After several emails (and somehow, lost photos), I had to call customer service, who admitted they had let things slide over several weeks Fast forward one more month: we went to go pick up the new slab, and it was shoddily finished, easily 3 shades lighter than the rest of the pre-hung items, and splotchy as well. In addition, the plastic that the weatherstripping was attached to was bent beyond repair and there was visible glue everywhere, which we did not have on the original door sent to us. Needless to say, we did not leave the store with the second slab. We are awaiting the third slab to be delivered, as well as a follow-up phone call from customer service to tell us the claim has been accepted. When I contacted customer service today via email, I was told that, yet again, the photos had somehow not reached them 8 days after the claim was created. This will either be third time's the charm, or three strikes they're out. I'm not looking forward to possible fighting to get a refund.

If this door was purchased through Home Depot, why all the fighting with Jeld-Wen? Just curious, since I work at a Home Depot in the Millwork department.

The Home Depot Millwork department would be handling all of this, and calling JW to get the order expedited for you. This entire complaint makes no sense. You special order a door from Jeld-Wen through Home Depot, the door comes to Home Depot, it's not delivered to you. All special order doors that come in with defects are returned, jamb and all, prior to any installation.

I've never re-ordered just a slab. Mullions are vertical bars between the glass. All of the clear and decorative glass options are one-piece inserts that are assembled prior to insertion in a door. Any mullion issues would have been noticed immediately.

I'm assuming you're not sure what to call the area you had a gap. Mullions are, as I said, the bars WITHIN the double-pane glass. Mulling, is done to attach a sidelite or transom or something of that sort to a door jamb. You said nothing about either.

Bottom line, you bought from Home Depot, you deal with Home Depot. THEY have the contacts to get you satisfaction from the vendor. Your entire claim, while sounding bad, is rife with inaccuracies and breaches of standard operating procedure. If it was a warranty issue, I can see you needing to contact Jeld-Wen.

Your complaint sounds more like manufacturing issues, which are resolved by the Home Depot. Contact them for satisfaction or a refund.

Jeld-Wen Front Door

I am a builder- installed a 15k front door- glass seals have broken and are now cloudy and Jeld-Wen is not willing to fix them.Called the company on numerous occasions, and they are deferring the problem away from them, the manufacturer. An excellent door company would stand behind their product. Stymied, as to the next step- not willing to have consumers at this point purchase any Jeld-Wen products. I am not willing to install any more Jeld-Wen doors in any homes I build. I'm confused. You ordered from Home Depot and paid $150 more for "Duralast".

Jeld-Wen offers Auralast. The process makes the wood impervious to water and rot, through to the core. If you have rotting, the Millwork associate at your Home Depot charged you for something that was not on the design. It should still be in their system, have them look it up.

A washer and dryer and rain would not have had an effect on the door or the jamb, unless, as was also stated, you did not paint the door. Read your warranty information. The door shows up white, but it's just a primer, designed to help with paint adhesion. You MUST paint the door, and continue to repaint it over time to guarantee the door does not rust.

However, you said you have a rotted WOOD door. But you ordered a prehung STEEL door. Which is it?

Bottom line, if you didn't paint your door, it's your fault. If you didn't get an Auralast jamb, but paid for it, that's Home Depot or Jeld-Wen's fault, but only the jamb.

PEOPLE, PLEASE PAINT YOUR PRIMED STEEL DOORS! /facepalm

JELD WEN HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I PURCHASED A JELD WEN DOOR FROM HD IT WAS 1.5 MONTHS LATE FROM DELIVERY DATE . WHEN DOOR DID ARRIVE IT WAS COVERED IN DUST. AFTER WE INSTALLED IT WE WERE WIPING THE DUST IN 2 SPOTS THE STAIN JUST WHIPPED OFF . I CALLED JELD WEN 6 TIMES TO SEND ME A TOUCH UP KIT ITS BEEN ALMOST 2 WEEKS I HAVE NOT RECIEVED THE KIT AND WHEN I ASK FOR ASSISTANCE AND AN ANSWER THEY SAY THEY WILL CHECK AND GET BACK TO ME I WAIT 2 DAYS THEN CALL THEM BACK .
