- Quality of door
- Quality of window
Ditto from me. Same experience.
Poor design to me. Can now get no rot jam or ones with composite foot.
I guess they have learned something in the last ten years due to complaints. Will not purchase another one ever.
Poor Customer Service
I need 3 new sliders was going with Jeld Win, but after reading all of the horror stories I probably will NOT.
Having EXACT same problem with our wood french doors!!! I was wondering if you ever got a response/replacement from Jeld-Wen?? I know there was a class action law suit, should look into if its not too late.
- Quality of window
Same here. Just told me it was my fault.
Lowes won't do anything, Reliabilt by Jeld Wen won't do anything and UTS Warranty won't do anything.
Waste of money. They should be ashamed of themselves!
OMG I bought this stupid door in Dec and have been fighting with them ever since to fix this awful pet flap!! I am fuming mad. Anyone get anywhere with them?!

Good news. I believe your story is more indicative of how dealings with JELD-WEN are then most of these rants posted here
Sounds like to me you got tilt single hung windows they were probably bowed out during installation. That was probably mentioned but no one wanted to reinstall them correctly.
I bought 3 of the Wendco premium windows back in about 1992 or so. Don't remember the exact date.
I loved them. They were very warm and no air infiltration even when 20 below and wind howling at 30 or 40 miles an hour. I had one on the north side and 2 on the west side. They had a vinyl covered foam weather strip which after twenty some years of use has become damaged in areas.
They are still in use and show no sign of deterioration. Wendco is no longer in business and was bought by Jeldwen. When looking at them at Home Depot they looked like the same window. I bought 24 of them, thinking they were the same window.
After installing them I can see they have made a few changes that appear to be mainly cost saving changes. They now use a felt plastic strip for weather stripping. The Jeldwen windows do not have as good fit and finish as the old Wendco windows. The mold seams are not smoothed down which causes the weather stripping to not be as effective in the corners.
It also makes some of the windows very hard to open. One thing to remember is that these are not high end windows. A high end window will usually have two or three layers of weather stripping to make them weather tight. I have only had mine for a year and so far, for what they are I am happy with them.
So far the Jeldwen customer service experience has been very good with me. They found some weather stripping to replace the old weather stripping on my Wendco windows free of charge.
