New ReviewerBought a prehung jeld-wen door from Home Depot the other day for a small project. After looking at all 4 available doors I took the best looking one.
There was no physical damage but I think the doors are literally assembled by the blind. The trim was installed starting at the top with a 1/8" reveal on the hinge side and finished flush with the frame at the bottom. The opposite side started with 1/4" reveal at the top and ended flush at the bottom. This was the situation on both sides.
I had to remove all the trim and re-attach it. Not only is the trim messed up but 6 out of the 9 hinge screws attaching the hinges to the frame were stripped. Now keep in mind, this was the "best looking" door out of 4. Also, the top hinge was screwed in with 3/16" of the mortise visible causing the door to hit the door stop and not close properly.
Again, QC must be performed by the blind.
Guess I'm going to have to try Masonite doors next time. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures.
