spent close to 5 thousand dollars, with installation, on a steel exterior door with full view side lites approx 2 years ago...i also purchased a vented storm door, pull down screen, full view...i was told that there had to be ventilation as to prevent heat build up between the exterior and storm doors...i purchased the Craftsman style door with a dentil shelf in a hartford green...have had noting but major issues with this costly investment...the composite dentil shelf is now blistery with tiny bumps of paint that are bubbling all over...the steel door itself is 'warping'...tiny creases/indentations due to the fact that the sun hits this door...this is unacceptable...jeld wen has told me to build a overhang/porch to prevent this problem from happening again...never had issues with my old steel door 'warping'...they don't make them like they used to!i should have kept my door from 1988 and painted it green...want to exchange this door for a different style...perhaps something with a full view stained glass to match my stained glass side lites...maybe a full view etched glass door will not attract the heat as much as a dark hartford green door with very little glass...

i am willing to pay the price difference...jeld wen says NO...want me to settle for a white door instead!

do not want a white door...a splash of color will add interest to my traditional cedar shake and white Hampton color scheme...currently at a mexican stand off with jeld wen...this was a major investment and i want what i want...not what's good for jeld wen...their doors should be able to hold up in the sunlight with the ventilated storm door...they are using inferior materials...never thought buying a front door could lead to home construction project such as an addition of a porch/overhang...never thought that had to be a pre requisite to purchasing an exterior steel door!...so shoppers beware...go elsewhere for your exterior door!

Review about: Jeld Wen Door.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $500.

Preferred solution: replace craftsman style door with a full lite style...maybe less heat buildup.

I didn't like: Quality of door, Poor.
